Obama Can’t be President Because of his Race

Recently, a man from Alaska with the name of  Gordon Warren Epperly filed a lawsuit to remove Obama’s name from the November election ballot because of his race. The full article is from the Huffington Post and can be read here. I actually managed to find a copy of the actual lawsuit filed, click here to see it. The following text if from the filed lawsuit:

“Barack Hussein Obama II, a.k.a. Barack Hussein Obama, a.ka. Barack H. Obama has the race status of being a “mulatto.” Barack Obama’s father (Barack Hussein Obama I) was a full blood Negro being born Nyang’oma Kogelo, Nyanza Province, Kenya and raised in the Colony of Kenya. Barack Obama’s mother (Stanley Ann Dunham) was a white Caucasian woman being born in Wichita, Kansas on November 29, 1942 and raised in the state of Washington and in the state of Hawaii.” Continue reading

Women’s rights; wait, what, they have rights?

Recently, February 16th to be exact the Oklahoma Senate passed the Personhood Act, which would ban all abortions if the House and governor approve the bill. Just some heads up this post is completely  biased. I mean, it’s full of my opinion like no other post so far. Please also keep in mind I am talking about abortions during the first trimester.

The bill defines life beginning at conception, this means that all abortions no matter the reason behind the act would be banned since it would be consider ending a life. These “Personhood” bills are quickly obtaining attention from all across the U.S, and some states might be drafting similar bills. Virginia is another state that might pass a similar “Personhood” act. The article also mentions that “This is the bill that would ban birth control like the Plan B pill and fertility treatments that it says would kill a child. It would also outlaw abortion in all cases, including rape or incest.” The bill is being pushed by Republicans (No surprise), many critics say that Republicans are strongly pushing these type of bills just to “defeat” Obama on the abortion issue.

Celebrate Valetine’s Day by Supporting Equality!

Oh, Valentine’s day is here! The time of the year one should should show their love and affection to their lover, friends or family members. It seems that between the commercialism and heteronormativity of Valentine’s Day people tend to forget the real message behind this holiday; love and affection, the main significance of Valentine’s Day in the United States. In which many people show their affection to their other. What other day would be better than the day of love to support equality for everyone? I’m talking about people who can show their love to their significant other as long as is in a private place. People who are classified as second class citizens and are denied a marriage license because they don’t fit the norm. People who are denied many marriage benefits such as taxes, estate, and social security benefits. People whose state might allow them get married, but our federal government won’t recognize their affection and love. Yes, I am talking about the GLBT community. People who are constantly told that yes, it is okay to love a same-sex member as long as it is done in a private place so they won’t pervert our children. Continue reading

One-child policy for the world?

As of early this month the world’s population was 7.02 billion people! About 50 years ago, in 1960 the world’s population was 3.02 billion. Human population grows exponentially, which means it starts off really slow, but then increases rapidly. For example, if you try to do a graph of 2 squared, 3 squared, 4 squared, you will see what it means when something grows exponentially, you can also click here to see a graph of the world’s population.

It is expected by the year 2050 the world’s population will be around 10 billion people. Why does this matter you might ask? Well, have you recently been to Los Angeles, or any other overpopulated metropolitan city? If yes, then you can sense where I am going with my topic. The feeling you might experience while being in a crowded area is nothing compared to countries with extreme overpopulation issues, such as India or China.

The picture shows an average day in India. The US does not even have half of neither of these two countries population.
